So today I went for the interview of the photography internship I applied for. Turned out great!! I am super excited about getting started with this organization, and I look forward to working in the public and community in producing amazing photos for the Michigan Suburbs Alliance organization.
Here is the biography that I submitted to be posted on their website.
My name is Christina Drane. I’m a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio where I was born and raised, but for the past two years I have been living in Michigan. Brownstown, Michigan to be exact. I am currently an Enrollment Counselor for University of Phoenix in Southfield, Michigan, and I also work very closely with military students. I am prior service, with the United States Marine Corps, and I have served our country for a seven year term, complete with two tours of duty to Iraq. I finished my career in the Marines as a Sergeant (E-5), and am very proud and happy to have been apart of the most elite and decorated branch of service.
I am a resource broker (what I like calling myself because I am the “go-to” person for everything), and love reading and writing. I am an avid reader, and the last book I read was “A Hungry Heart” by Gordan Parks. I’m married an have a step-son who is 8 years old, and am a proud mother of a American Staffordshire Terrier (pitbull), whose name is Sirus.
I started my educational journey at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science in 2003. I recently just finished my MBA with a concentration in Human Resources with the University of Phoenix in October of 2008, and I currently have went back for a second Masters in Education with a concentration in Adult Education and Training. I eventually want to teach on a collegiate level to Photography students.
My long-term goal is to work as a professional photographer in either a private or public sector, and to share with the world stories, life, and communication overall to the masses. I am a lifelong learner, and love opportunities to gain practical, real-world experience that will help me to transition into a successful career in either the public or private sector, learn about the role that photography plays in strengthening regionalism and local governments, and learn about the use of photography in a non-profit’s marketing, publication design and brand development.
